In-Depth Information
One single feature on a tractor could make it unsuitable for your use. If you are not aware
of these types of things, you could end up with a tractor that seemed 100 percent right for
you but was actually 10 percent wrong, and that 10 percent made the tractor unusable. For
example, “tricycle” tractors with narrow front ends (a single front tire or front tires 6 to 8
inches apart) are highly maneuverable but very unstable. They have a reputation for tipping
over, one of the main causes of injury and death on the farm. A tractor with a narrow front
end is a risk in any situation and should be avoided, but is an accident looking for a place
to happen, particularly on hilly or mountainous terrain.
