In-Depth Information
The 12′x10′ hay area is used to store a week's worth of hay and stall bedding. It is
located next to a large sliding door for convenient unloading.
The11′aisleprovidesampleroomtomaneuverahorseanywhereinthebarnandfor
safely working on a horse in cross ties. It also is wide enough to back in a pickup to
deliver grain or to use a small tractor and wagon for cleaning stalls.
11′ wide sliding doors on either end of the aisle, as well as the 8′ wash rack door, can
be opened for cross-ventilation.

next to the tack room door. The grooming area is well lighted, has plenty of electrical
outlets, and has recessed shelves in the wall to hold grooming supplies and totes. The
concrete floor in the grooming area is covered with rubber mats.
Loft areas above the tack room and feed room can be used to store boxes of seldom
used or seasonal tack, extra feeders, and other items.
Two tie areas are just outside the wash rack door. A loose stocks area is completely
protected from the sun and wind, and a three-rail tie area lets a horse stand in the
morning sun. These are good places to let a horse dry after a bath or cool down after
a workout.
The wooden porch off the tack room provides a relaxing, shaded area for cleaning
tack or just enjoying the moment.
