Commission on Electrochemistry proposed that
the Fc + /Fc couple should be measured in the
same system and the electrode potential
reported as values referred to the apparent
standard potential of the system. As for the
other method, the same solvent as that of the
solution under study is used for an internal
solvent in the reference electrode. The Ag/Ag +
electrode is the most popular reference
electrode used in non-aqueous solutions, and it
can be used in a variety of solvents ( Figure
2.2c ).
