It has also been demonstrated that
decomposition of harmful organic chlorides like
DDT can be achieved by electrolysis using
cobalt complex mediator like hydrophobic
vitamin B 12 under photo irradiation [23].
Furthermore, a novel flow and circulating
system using a Pd tube as a cathode has been
developed for electrocatalytic hydrogenation,
and this system was shown to be highly
effective for the dechlorination of polychloro
aromatics, as shown in Figure 7.9 [24,25].

Conversion of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) to
