In general, the electroauxiliary effect of a silyl
group increases S < N < O, and the oxidation
potential of a silyl compound with an α
heteroatom decreases in the same order, as
shown in Figure 4.12 . In other words, the
magnitude of the silicon effect for oxygen
compounds is much greater than that for
organo nitrogen and sulfur compounds. This is
