Each of the five rooms at this lovely old stone house is named
after a Mediterranean wind and individually designed, but all are turned out with terra-
cotta -tiled floors and wood furnishings. The family-run atmosphere is welcoming, the
house wine a treat and the tousled garden a shady delight. It's at the western entrance to
town, secluded above the main road.

What a view! Sprinkled across olive, almond
and fig groves, this cluster of renovated stone hermitages has soul-stirring views across
terraced slopes down to the sea. Rooms are rustic and simple, with wood-burning stoves
or fireplaces and serene terraces, and the edge-of-the-world infinity pool is something
else. The farm's olives and tangy jams are a treat.

A rambling building with a real cliffhanger of
a swimming pool, family-run Baronia is built in the ruins of a Muslim-era fort (part of
the tower remains). The rooms are simple with old-school decor - more 1950s Spanish
grandmother than baronial - but the views from most of the balconies are exceptional;
some face the sea, others the village.

block up from Banyalbufar's main road. The attractive rooms are never overdone and
