Sa Fira LIVESTOCK MARKET
(Plaça des Fossar; 1st Sun May) Sineu's annual Sa Fira is a major produce market held on
the first Sunday of May and dating to 1318.
Fira de Sant Tomás TOWN FESTIVAL
( 2nd Sun Dec) In the depths of winter, the Fira de Sant Tomás features the annual
matanza (pig slaughter). It's not for the faint-hearted.

shorter hours rest of year) Most come for the seafood and beef steaks served sizzling hot
from the grill at this convivial restaurant, housed in a former carpet factory, but the rice
dishes are also top notch. Pep, the owner, keeps everything ticking over nicely and
there's a pleasant terrace for summer dining.

step as you descend into this cheerful old whitewashed cellar with huge, aged wine vats.
The roast spring lamb vies with the rice dishes for our favourite order. It's around 100m
northeast of Sa Plaça.
Getting There & Away
Trains on the Palma-Manacor line run here (from Palma €2.90, 50 minutes). The station
is about 100m from Plaça des Fossar.
