( Click here ). Townsfolk dressed up as scimitar-waving Moorish pirates and pole-
toting villagers engage in several mock encounters, to the thunder of drums and
blunderbusses, around town on the afternoon of 2 August. The night before, the
town centre is the scene of one almighty drinking spree, with folk thronging the
bars and squares, and live concerts blaring through the night from 11pm. No won-

(Carrer del Monti-Sion 3; 10am-2pm & 5-9.30pm Tue-Fri, 10am-2pm Sat & Sun) This glori-
ously retro emporium merges vintage style with contemporary design. Among the unique
trinkets and gifts are nostalgic sepia postcards of old Pollença, Barcelona fashion, hand-
made straw boaters for a dash of Gatsby glamour, idiosyncratic ceramics (we dig the
watering-can dog and sardine lights), glassware, art and jewellery. Out back there's a fab
collection of kids' books and clothing.
