Banco de Sóller HISTORIC BUILDING

(Plaça de la Constitució) Joan Rubió is responsible for the strikingly Modernista frontage of
the 1912 Banco de Sóller (nowadays Banco de Santander), right beside the Església de
Sant Bartomeu. It's a daring effort, with two massive, circular galleries and windows
draped in lacy wrought-iron grilles.

(Town Centre) The main square, Plaça de la Constitució, is 100m downhill from the train
station. Surrounded by bars and restaurants, filled with children playing in the evenings
and home to the ajuntament , this is Sóller's heart and soul.
Jardí Botànic & Museu Balear de Ciències Naturals GARDENS, MUSEUM

Mon-Sat) A pleasant stroll 600m west from Sóller's town centre brings you to the peace-
ful Jardí Botànic, with collections of flowers and other plants native to the Balearic Is-
lands - from holm oaks to magnolias, myrtle to the endangered caraway pine - alongside
other Mediterranean samples. The same ticket gives you free entry to the Museu Balear
de Ciències Naturals (Natural Science Museum), which provides some basic insight on
the flora and fauna of the Balearics - the fossil collection is of particular note.

Sóller's old-world, open-sided trams trundle 2km down to Port de Sóller on the coast.
They depart from outside the train station; pick up a timetable from the tourist office.
