High on the hill at the southern entrance to the village, this
small winery has cellar-door tastings and sales in summer. It offers a number of fusion
wines, but its best drop comes from the locally grown malvasia grape.

- together vintage furnishings give this button-cute bistro a distinctly boho feel. It's
tucked in the corner of a narrow backstreet, with a plant-dotted patio for people-watching
over everything from
tumbet
(Mallorcan ratatouille) with roast pork to lamb meatballs.
The bargainous three-course €15.50 lunch includes water, wine and olives.

On the road leading down to Cala de Banyalbufar, this traditional
haunt stays true to its Mallorcan roots with generous portions of
arroz negro
(black rice
cooked in squid ink) and grilled fish. Its
gato con helado de almendra,
a moist sponge
with almond ice cream, takes some beating, as do the terrace views as the sun sinks into
the sea.

classic spot, this place almost seems to lean over the main road at the southwest end of
town. Although it draws cyclists seeking snacks to its streetside tables, the upstairs res-
taurant is first class. Crackling
lechona
(suckling pig) and one of the best renditions of
rice with lobster we tasted on the island await.
