pagne, plush white loungers, bronzed bods, DJ beats and summertime barbecues
are what Magaluf-based Nikki Beach has to offer.

downer and tapas.

Es Puig de Sant Pere
Ginbo
BAR
(Passeig de Mallorca 14; 9.30pm-3am Mon-Sat, 6pm-3am Sun)
Ginbo does the best G&T in
Palma for our money. Besides around 100 different kinds of gin, the bar-tenders mix
some superb cocktails, including the Porn Star Martini (the mind boggles), which you
can sip in the buzzy, stylishly urban, backlit bar or on the terrace.
Abaco
BAR
(
www.bar-abaco.es
; Carrer de Sant Joan 1; 8pm-midnight Sun-Thu, to 3am Fri & Sat)
Behind a
set of ancient timber doors is this extraordinary bar. Inhabiting the restored patio of an
old Mallorcan house, Abaco is filled with ornate candelabras, elaborate floral arrange-
ments, cascading towers of fresh fruit, and bizarre artworks. It hovers between extravag-
ant and kitsch. Paying this much for a cocktail is an outrage, but one might just be worth
it here.
Rocco's
BAR
(Carrer de Sant Feliu 16)
All warm colours, vintage furnishings and cosy nooks, this lantern-
lit, boho-style newcomer is a terrific spot for an intimate chat, mellow music and a glass
of vino. It often does a
caña
(small glass of beer) and tapa for €2.
