The fish stalls are spectacular and they have an amazing array of wonderful sea-
food on offer. There is also an oyster bar in the middle of the market and you could
walk to both Misa and Simply Fosh from there for a spot of lunch.
In season Everyone knows Palma as a great summer destination, but the winter
also has so much to offer. The local wild mushrooms,esclata-sangs, come into
season. They are large, big-flavoured mushrooms that are just perfect for grilling or
roasting. Simply sprinkle them with a little sea salt, olive oil, crushed garlic cloves
and chopped parsley.

its exposed stone, high ceilings, claret-red walls and perennial buzz. Everything is ex-
ecuted with a razor-sharp eye for detail, be it a simple steak and chips or a dreamily
smooth chocolate panna cotta with mint salsa. Bone-white crockery shows off dishes to
great effect, and the wine list is predictably excellent.

7.30-11.30pm, bar to 2am) It may be the haunt of the glam and the gorgeous, with its DJ
beats, champagne hues and candlelit courtyard, but Opio at the Puro Hotel has substance
as well as style. Go for cocktails, people-watching and artfully assembled Asian fusion
cuisine, along the lines of salmon in a miso crust and beef sirloin with shitake mush-
rooms.
