Embedded versus REST
Neo4j provides more than one deployment and configuration models to integrate with the
existing applications. It exposes all the required Java APIs for deploying the server as an
embedded application or a standalone / REST-based server.
Although both deployment models have their own pros and cons, the decision for produc-
tion deployment model would depend upon the vision and the usage of the software.
Let's first understand each of the deployment models and then we will discuss the advant-
ages/disadvantages and applicability of each of the models.
