As wages in China rise, the days of infinite cheap labour may also be end-

which China must do to break with its dependence on exports and develop a

president in 2013. Some see Xi Jinping as a potential reformer who will
grapple with China's manifest challenges; others sense a more cautious man
and a tenure that could see vested interests protected and the status quo up-
held.
