effigies of British royalty. Now it pays tribute to a single sovereign - the
founder of HSBC, the banking giant that owns the square. To the east is the
Former Legislative Council Building Offline map Google map ( 8 Jackson Rd)
, a neoclassical edifice. To the north is the Cenotaph Offline map Google map (
Chater Rd) , a memorial to Hong Kong residents killed during the two world
wars.
