In-Depth Information
When its archetypal granite peaks and twisted pines are wreathed in spectral
folds of mist, Huangshan's idyllic views easily nudge it into the select company
of China's top 10, nay, top five, sights.
Climate
Summer (July and August) is the rainy season, though storms can blow through
fairly quickly. Autumn (September to October) is generally considered to be the best
travel period. Even at the height of summer, average temperatures rarely rise above
20°C at the summit, so come prepared.
