San Francisco-based Protos Eyewear,
creators of the 8-Bit Sunglasses, recently
completed a successful crowdfunding
campaign for custom 3D-printed eye-
wear. They have developed interactive

the shape of the glasses to flatter their
facial structure using uploaded images.

Created by a programmer who likes to
tie knots, Freakin' Sweet Knots was born
though John Allwine's experimental
process of creating an engagement ring
for his wife. During the process it occur-
red to me that I could write an app that
could generate 3D models of similar
rings so they could be 3D printed.
You can create your own knot ring
through the Freakin' Sweet Knots app
which uploads directly to Shapeways.
