14. B. Virtual memory, also called a swap fi le, consists of a hard disk fi le that is used to hold
data that is swapped out of RAM temporarily until it is needed again and swapped back in.
SRAM, DRAM, and ROM are all physical types of memory.
15. C. SDRAM is synchronous dynamic random access memory. Synchronous refers to the
synchronization of its speed with that of the front-side bus. Do not confuse this with
SRAM (static RAM) or SDR (single data rate).
