16. C. ExpressCard is the modern standard for notebook expansion cards. PC Card was an
earlier standard that supported 16-bit or 32-bit connections. CardBus came after PC Card
but before ExpressCard.
17. D. That symbol is found on most power buttons. The USB symbol looks like a branching
tree of arrows. Ethernet is often symbolized by three connected boxes. A microphone port
may have a picture of a microphone on it.
18. A. Both of those cards fi t in a 34 mm slot with a 26-pin connector. The ExpressCard|54's
back end is wider, but the end that connects to the PC is the same. See Figure 4.26.
19. D. Bluetooth, being a wireless technology, does not use a cable, so it does not require a
port to plug into. It does require a Bluetooth adapter in the computer, but it communicates
with the adapter wirelessly.
20. A. IEEE1394 is the FireWire standard. RS232 is a legacy serial port. LPT is a legacy
parallel port.
