Explore Your Router or Switch Configuration
1.
Look in the documentation that came with your router, switch, or wireless access point
to fi nd out the IP address to use to access it. (Search the user documentation for the
model number at the manufacturer's website if needed.)
2.
Open a web browser, and type
http://
followed by the IP address of the device. A page
appears, showing the confi guration information for the device. (You may need to enter a
password if one has been set for the device.)
3.
Browse through the information and settings for the device. The graphic here shows an
example.
4.
Leave the browser window open for use in Exercise 3.9, or close it if you aren't planning
to do Exercise 3.9 shortly.
