Reset mapping : This option restores the original mapping coordinates
Move : This option displays the 3DMOVE gizmo and grips, allowing you to
move the material on the object by specifying two points
Rotate : This option displays the 3DROTATE gizmo, allowing you to rotate
the material on the object by specifying a rotation axis and a point to in-
dicate rotation angle
Reset : This option restores the original mapping coordinates
Switch mapping mode : This displays the initial prompt, allowing you to
select a different geometry
Note
The command does not allow you to specify direct values for moving or rotating
coordinates, which is a severe limitation.
Sometimes, AutoCAD is not able to display correct mapping coordinates. In
these situations, applying this command should correct the problem.
Exercise 11.3
Applying materials to a simple roof, we will demonstrate how to adjust mapping co-
ordinates and how to assign a different material to faces:
1. Open the drawing A3D_11_03.DWG . The lighting is already set up to pho-
tometric, with sunlight and skylight.
2. With MATBROWSEROPEN , load the Spanish Tile - Red 2 material (the
Roofing library). Also create a new Wall Paint material.
3. Editing the first material, access the Generic image palette, activate Link
texture transforms, and assign Sample Size the value 2 in width.
4. Editing the second material, just modify its name to White Inner
walls .
5. For this simple case, instead of assigning materials by layer, drag the ma-
terial from the Materials Browser palette to the roof. We can immediately
see that the material is not applied correctly.
