Note
Image files can be dragged from Windows Explorer to texture slots on the Ma-
terials Editor palette.
Checker
The Checker texture simulates a pattern composed by alternate squares or rect-
angles. Two panels that are available are:
Appearance : With this option we control Color 1 , Color 2 , and Soften ,
the last allowing option to blur the transition area. Instead of colors, we
may apply other textures.
Transforms : With Link texture transforms checked, all transformations
made in this panel are also applied to other images used by the material.
Offset in the Position option controls the image origin related to faces
and Rotation controls rotation. Scale controls real-world dimensions,
width and height, for the image. Repeat controls if the image is repeated
to fulfill the faces, hat is, Tile or not.
Gradient
The Gradient texture simulates a smooth transition between two or more colors with
the following panels:
Appearance : The Gradient Type list includes several gradient shapes,
such as Linear , Box , Radial , Diagonal , Sweep , or Tartan . We can pick
on the bar to add colors, or drag the small mark out to remove it; a
double-click on a mark displays the color box or it can be changed on Co-
lor (number). The Interpolation list includes some options for transition
between colors. Position controls the relative position for the selected
mark, between 0 (left-hand side) and 1 (right-hand side). Invert Gradient
inverts the color order.
Noise : We can add some irregularities to gradient. Noise Type list con-
trols the type, between Regular , Fractal , or Turbulence . Amount speci-
fies how much noise is applied and Size controls the scale of irregularit-
