In-Depth Information
The Masonry material
The Masonry material template allows you to create materials mainly to walls, sim-
ulating masonry, bricks, or Concrete Masonry Unit ( CMU ). In Masonry , the Type
list defines masonry or CMU; Image allows choosing an image, Finish controls if
the material looks Unfinished , Glossy , or Matte , and Relief Pattern controls relief
or main bump. In Image we choose an image similar to the main diffused image
but preferably gray-scaled; lighter areas will seem raised and darker areas will seem
lowered. The Amount value controls the relief importance. Tint specifies a color to
tint the material.
The Metal material
The Metal material template allows creating materials simulating different types of
metals. In Metal we define the Type and Finish properties. Type can be Aluminum ,
Anodized Aluminum , Chrome , Copper , Brass , Bronze, or Stainless Steel . Fin-
ish can be Polished , Semi-polished , Satin , or Brushed . In Relief Pattern we con-
trol a bump effect; its Type can be Knurl , Diamond Plate , Checker Plate , or Cus-
tom Image . Also the Amount value and Scale are controlled. We can also apply
Cutouts , simulating perforated plates; its Type can be Staggered Circles , Straight
Circles , Squares , Grecian , Cloveleaf , Hexagon , or a custom image or texture;
each type with related parameters. Tint specifies a color to tint the material.
The Metallic Paint material
The Metallic Paint material template allows you to create material simulating special
paint over metal, like the one used in cars. In Metallic Paint we control the Color
and a Highlight Spread value. We can activate Flecks and control their Color and
Size . We can also activate Pearl , control its Type between Chromatic or Second
Color and control its Amount value. In the paint Top Coat , Type can be Car Paint ,
Chrome , Matte or Custom , and Finish can be Smooth or Orange Peel . Tint spe-
cifies a color to tint the material.
