The CONVERTOLDLIGHTS command
If we open a 3D drawing from versions prior to 2007, the existing lights are not com-
patible with current lighting. The CONVERTOLDLIGHTS command (no alias) allows us
to convert all these lights to current lights. The command is automatic and does not
prompt for nothing.
Exercise 10.3
From the 3D model used in the Exercise 10.2 section, we will now apply artificial
lighting inside this house:
1. We open the drawing A3D_10_03.DWG .
2. With SUNPROPERTIES , we take 20h00 as the time. A render displays a
completely black night.
3. To place lights inside, it is useful to change the visual style to 2D wire-
frame. Inside the house, we can see some small cylinders on the top.
That is where we are going to place lights.
4. We apply the first point light on the center of the base of the left cylinder
that is far from the door. With the VIEW command, we activate the view
called Camera1 .
5. Doing a render still displays black. So, we increase the light's Intensity
factor to 100 . A render already shows some light, but there is no indirect
lighting, that is, light does not reflect on walls and other surfaces.
