The VIEWDETAIL command
The VIEWDETAIL command (no alias, Create View panel on the ribbon) allows you
to create details of AutoCAD or Inventor models. Another process for applying the
command is using the shortcut menu. The detail can be circular or rectangular and
is created with a default detail view style. The command starts by prompting the view
(base or projected) where we want the detail:
Command: VIEWDETAIL
Select parent view: Selection
It displays default options and prompts for the center of the detail:
Boundary = Circular Model edge = Smooth Scale
= 2:1
Specify center point or [Hidden lines/Scale/
Visibility/Boundary/model Edge/Annotation]
<Boundary>: Point
Then, the dimension of the detail is requested:
Specify size of boundary or [Rectangular/Undo]:
Point or value
We must now specify the location of the detail view:
Specify location of detail view: Point
Pressing the Enter key calculates the detail as follows:
Select option [Hidden lines/Scale/Visibility/
Boundary/model Edge/Annotation/Move/eXit]
<eXit>: Enter
