Note
The VIEWUPDATEAUTO variable, new on Version 2013, controls automatic up-
dates. With value 1 , view updates turns on automatically whenever the model is
modified.
Section and detail views
Version 2013 adds associative section and detail views, including proper view styles.
The VIEWSECTION command
The VIEWSECTION command (no alias, Create View panel on the ribbon) allows
you to create sections of solids and surfaces in AutoCAD or Inventor models. Anoth-
er process for applying the command is using the shortcut menu. The command
starts by prompting the view selection that will define the section:
Command: VIEWSECTION
Select parent view: Selection
Hidden Lines = Visible lines Scale = 1:1 (From
parent)
We specify two or more points that will define the section plane. The default section
view style controls the reference letter and view label:
Specify start point or [Type/Hidden lines/Scale/
Visibility/Annotation/hatCh] <Type>: Point
Specify next point or [Undo]: Point
Specify next point or [Undo/Done] <Done>: Enter
We pick the location of the view, the new view is displayed and we may change some
options:
