Getting Around in Galway
Galway is very compact and easily walkable. And, of course, the advantage of walking is
amplified by the beautiful views and fresh sea air. Most visitors won't need to set foot inside
a motor vehicle from the time they arrive in Galway to the time they leave. But if you do
need to make a longer trip (or if you're simply tired from a long day of walking) you have
two options. Local bus networks cover the city fairly comprehensively, although you will
probably wait longer for a bus than you would in Dublin. You can also hail a cab fairly eas-
ily in central areas such as Bridge Street and around the Cathedral.
