Although Belfast is less compact than other cities on the island, its key sights are mostly
within walking distance of the central Train Station. However, there's a lot to see here, and
unless your budget is very tight it's usually worthwhile to invest in a
Hop-on Hop-off Bus
ticket. For just £10-15, you get freedom of movement around the city, plus an expert tour
guide who can explain each location in detail - this is especially valuable in a destination
like Belfast, where the shadow of history is long and nearly everything around you requires
some interpretation.
