A cover crop or ground cover of grasses and clovers has many benefits. It attracts
beneficial insects, helps keep down the weeds, and helps prevent erosion of the
soil.
SAFE USE AND DISPOSAL OF PESTICIDES
I believe that most problems in the vineyard can be handled with organic products. But
just because a product is in a green bottle doesn't mean that it is acceptable under organic
standards. These standards differ depending on the state or province where you live, but all
the products I am going to recommend are acceptable under the USDA National Organic
Program (NOP) classification system. You will find contact information for agencies and

Even organic products call for following some sensible guidelines.
→ Use of the least-toxic treatment products is always the best approach.
→ Make sure the product you choose is labeled for use on that plant and for that dis-
ease or pest.
