Third Year
In the third year, do not water until it starts to get warm and the soil dries out; say late
spring or early summer, depending on your climate and soil type. You may want to switch
your drippers from ½ gph to 1 gph. Water deeply for six hours with ½ gph or three hours
with 1 gph drippers every five to seven days, depending on hot spells. If temperatures are
cool or if it is a wet year, you will water less. The hotter it is, the more frequently you
should water. Keep an eye on the shoot growth and adjust accordingly.
