Training the Trunk
If your vines just have cordons, prune back each cordon to the same length on each
side of the trunk. If you have only one cordon, prune it off at the top of the grape stake.
During the upcoming growing season you can develop both sides of the cordon. If your
vine is very immature, be sure to prune back so you have at least two buds on the trunk, to
leave two chances for continuing the growth of the trunk and then cordons in the months
ahead.
