ACCOMMODATION
Although the Cotswold Way can be walked in dislocated day sections with
the aid of private (and, in some cases, public) transport, this guide has
been written with the long-distance walker in mind. Overnight accommod-
ation along the way is therefore a prime concern, and I have indicated
where such accommodation was available during research, but for cur-
rent details you are advised to obtain a copy of a first-rate publication
compiled by the Gloucestershire Area Ramblers' Association. The Cotswold
Way Handbook & Accommodation List details existing accommodation on
or near the route, giving addresses, telephone numbers, grid references,
and so on, of a range of private b&bs, hotels and pubs. This highly re-
commended publication, which is updated and published annually, may be
purchased from the Ramblers' Association whose London address is found
in Appendix A.
The Ramblers' Association also publishes details of bed-and-breakfast
accommodation throughout the country, as recommended by its mem-
bers, and listed under county sections. The Ramblers' Yearbook and Ac-
commodation Guide is published annually, comes free with membership,
and includes facilities along the Cotswold Way.
