In-Depth Information
Eventually spill out to a minor road on the northern edge of Hawkes-
bury Upton . Bear right and you will shortly come to a triangle of roads
containing a duck pond (grid ref: 775874) - for accommodation or refresh-
ments, turn right; for the continuing Cotswold Way, bear left.
HAWKESBURY UPTON
Hawkesbury Upton began as a farm mentioned in a document of AD 972, but the village
has grown very little in its thousand-year history. In fact its expansion has been
suprisingly limited, considering its prominent position on the wolds just west of the
Bath road, and most of its buildings are less than a hundred years old.
