seen ahead, bear half-right, pass a group of trees and bushes near the
barn, go through a gap in the hedgerow and ahead along the right-hand
edge of a large field. After about 100 metres veer right above a hollow
where the way is guided by marker posts to the lower edge of a field.
Enter woods through a gate and weave along the slope among fine trees
(mostly beech), with masses of wild garlic adding pungency and thousands
of beautiful white stars in springtime. At a junction of paths bear slightly
right, ignoring the broad descending path, and cut across the slope, soon
leaving the woods by a kissing gate. Wander across a sloping field, with
Horton Court seen below to the right and lovely views stretching ahead.
