In-Depth Information
Eventually emerge onto a farm track and turn left in order to reach a
lane on the outskirts of Wortley . Instead of going into the village, cross
a stile with a sign to Alderley and wander half-left over a field to its far
bottom corner. Through a gateway near some willows, cross a much smal-
ler field to another gate, go over a stream coming out of a valley known
as Ozleworth Bottom, then onto a track that curves right into Kenner-
well Lane, rising to Alderley , a charming little village worth giving a few
minutes to explore.
Cross the road straight ahead and keep on to another junction near the
church. Bear left in front of a house on a drive that leads to a farm track.
This eventually takes you through a field gate into meadows stretching
ahead into the very pleasant Kilcott Valley.
The route entices you into that valley by simply maintaining direction
along the right-hand edge of several meadows linked by gates or stiles.
The path which replaces the farm track eventually goes along a narrow,
treeenclosed section and on to a crossing farm track, or green lane, where
you turn right. Cross the Kilcott Brook and come to a country road where
you bear left (grid ref: 779898).
