This MDM system is in tight coupling because its
availability is crucial for the execution of other systems that
update and use master data.

Loose coupling
In this last integration model, the MDM system is not
directly used in the production environment. The repository
is duplicated in the databases that use the reference and
master data in production.
For example, product configuration is carried out in an
environment dedicated to configuration. Once the
configuration has been validated, the products are replicated
in the databases of the transactional in-house systems and
software packages. These systems do not have a direct
relation with the MDM system.
