10.5.4. Derivation of extended business operations
The extended business operations of the “execution of the
transition” type are retaken by the designer so that the
extended use cases can invoke them 8 .
The extended business operations of the “pre-condition of
modification” type and “control of the change of state value”
type are implemented, all the while profiting from a decision
table. These operations overload the default functioning
ensured by the MDM system.
Multi-occurrence business operations are services which
are invoked independently of the unitary CRUD services
ensured by default by the MDM system. Their execution
requires that the user select, beforehand, a set of occurrences
of a business object.
10.5.5. Derivation of inheritance
The case of class inheritance, that can exist at the
semantic modeling level, are “unfolded” profiting a
composition of data types. The MDM system, as for
relational oriented systems, can generally not tackle a direct
management of data inheritances.
Classically, the three following scenarios are at our
disposal to derive an inheritance data structure at the logical
level. The designer decides on the best option following the
needs and desired optimizations:
− a table per class;
− a table per concrete class;
− a table for all the classes.
8 . See Chapters 8, 9 and 11 for the definition of extended business
operations and extended use cases.
