In this example, the association has been directed from
the topic to the author. It would also be possible to drive it
from the other direction. There would thus be an additional
user screen to manage this second path 6 .
We have seen in this chapter that an MDM process must
start at the highest level of maturity i.e. the semantic model,
with its technical expression in the form of a Model-driven
MDM system. Thanks to the semantic approach, the
administration functions brought by MDM are delivered
automatically to business users while limiting the hard-
coding of software. We will now describe those functions in
the following chapter.
6. The screen presented in this example is generated by a Model-driven
MDM EBX platform from Orchestra Networks. The ergonomics retained is
that of a list of check boxes; it is also possible to drive the generation of the
screen in order to obtain other ergonomic representations, for example, as
a list box.
