It will take yet another forms when images are
created to help develop social skills or overcome
learning disabilities. Book illustration for adults
may accompany poems and verses, fiction, art,
media, or sport related albums. It may be satirical,
humorous, entertaining, with spiritual, religious,
travel and leisure, or erotic content, and also may
be socially or politically involved. Each area of
human involvement determines somehow the il-
lustrator's work. The same may relate to drawings
present in multiple kinds of press, news coverage,
and magazines, with the growing part placed by
images in journalism and communication media.

Traditional and computing-based illustrations
are present in our communication, learning, pro-
ductive work, and artistic activities. Techniques
typical of traditional illustration include pen-
and-ink illustration, calligraphy, printmaking,
engraving, etching, woodcut, linocut, lithography,
screenprinting, and photosilkscreen. Digital il-
lustration and infographics may often follow old
traditions of illustration, for example, in children
topics illustration, poster art, street art, cartoons,
comics, product design, or playing cards design.
Several illustration projects are presented, which
are inspired by biology and other sciences, refer
to various fields of our interests and areas of
our activities, and apply selected illustration
techniques. The readers are invited to make their
own illustrations.
