business, and other areas. Galleries, festivals, and
shows are in many instances oriented to the media
arts. Colleges are more often set out as the Art and
Media rather than Art and Design Colleges. They
prepare students to meet the job market expecta-
tions and enhance their career opportunities. To
a certain extent, our education is market-driven.
While there are job positions for visual artists and
graphic designers, yet better opportunities are for
interactive media developers who don't hesitate to
explore current possibilities in computing.
Many believe that mutual inspiration between
art and other disciplines can enhance creativity.
Many kinds of software are designed to provide
options to modify the code. Users can present a
story graphically and create an action in an in-
teractive and often interdisciplinary format. For
example, web design software with the options:
design, code, or split allows the user to design a
website using iconic representations of each func-
tion; code it by writing a program in a computer
language; or split, where the use of the icons makes
a computer display commands. These actions may
be supportive in learning programming. Some
programmers often offer Java applets and free-to-
download small packages, for example behaviors
or actions built into the program.
Other programs for creating an interactive
content allow the user to present a storytelling. A
mode format makes possible to introduce diverse
literary and graphic forms, such as a story, a poem,
a manga, and an anime. Games represent another
request from the market and the gaming industry,
with a broad spectrum of the genre and media
specifics. An Internet access and the presence
of portable devices has additionally broadened
the spectrum of available technologies, and also
influenced the scope of the applied languages.
Feasibility of interacting with a player from a
distant, often unknown location, and the existence
of the Internet-based forums, supporting groups,
and social networks create possibilities for the
new methods of sharing interests and information
exchange. For example, with Livemocha (2012),
in the online community that is learning a foreign
language may find someone speaking a desired
language who is eager to learn your language, so
you can share interests and discuss ideas in both
languages; both people would benefit from one
another and yet enjoy their conversations.
Figure 5 presents student response to oppor-
tunities coming with the advances in technology.
