Case Studies
This part of the topic presents three worked case studies that combine many of the
command line utilities that have been presented so far. The overall objective of the
case studies is to demonstrate how the different command line tools can be applied
to real-world examples focusing on a range of geospatial data. The speci
c
highlights of this part of the topic are to:
Use Google Earth to generate vector spatial data and post-process it using OGR to
meet further requirements;
Process LiDAR data to derive Canopy metrics from LAS data using the SPD
Library;
Perform an unsupervised and supervised landcover classi
cation of Landsat 8
multispectral data using GDAL, pktools and the Orfeo Toolbox.
