A useful feature of using the segmentation algorithm in vector mode is that it
can be run on very large images by using tile-wise segmentation. This process will
stitch the regions between tiles, however it only mitigates the artefacts between tiles.
A recent update to the application is the lsms framework, which allows tile-wise
MeanShift segmentation resulting in exact results at once without any artefacts.
