Chapter 6. Using the Twitter App
In the last chapter, we learned about the many apps available on Splunk. We also learned
about how to obtain a Twitter API key, and how to install the app for Twitter data that is
available for Splunk. In this chapter, we will use that app to create reports and dashboards
based on streaming Twitter data. We will cover the following topics:
• Creating a Twitter index
• Searching Twitter data
• The built-in General Activity dashboard
• The built-in per-user Activity dashboard
• Creating dashboard panels with Twitter data
