rave-worthy Italian dinners. El Jardín Mall houses Japanese restaurant Noe on its top floor

Nayón
Located on a hill in the city's northeast corner, Nayón is recognized as the ' Jardín de
Quito ' or 'Quito's Garden' for its long history of ornamental and medicinal plant produc-
tion. The streets are lined with flower shops, gardens and greenhouses where the rest of
Quito gets its flowers from. If you're looking for a relaxed getaway away from the city's
commotion but still be close to all the fun, it doesn't get any better than Nayón.
To purchase a bouquet or just stroll through some lovely gardens, head to the experts at
Los Laberintos (Isidro Ayora and Mariano Cruz) who grow and design their own stunning
arrangements and landscape gardens throughout Quito and its suburbs. If you've worked
up an appetite, head over to La Casa de la Loma (Las Palmas and Nuestra Señora de
Santa Ana street) which is hidden on a quiet, green corner of Nayón (itself the quiet green
corner of Quito). They serve traditional dishes along with pizzas in a casual but refined at-
mosphere, complete with a patio and backyard for the kids.
To get your fill of adventure without leaving the city, two adventure-themed parks are sta-
tioned centrally in Nayón: Nayón Xtreme Valley (Paltapamba S2-72) and Canopy Huer-
tayacu . The former boasts Ecuador's 'most extreme zipline' while the latter competes
with the country's longest and some of its highest. Canopy Huertayacu's main draws are
its outside pool, fishing pools and sporting fields whereas Nayón Xtreme Valley offers ad-
venture birthday parties for kids - but both have nature trail networks worth a walk.
