Hostal Limoncocha is the most popular budget option in Tena because of its top-floor kit-
chen terrace, clean private rooms with hot showers and friendly service. Besides having
free WIFI, laundry services and good, cheap breakfasts, they're also a tour operator and
can offer information as well as guides for any kind of Tena-based excursion. It's a little
drab but it's also close to everything and a good value overall.

Hostal Pakay is 15-minute walk away from Tena's bus terminal but still quiet and se-
cluded, and an overall great budget option. Private rooms come with WIFI, fans and high-
pressure hot water showers, so pretty much everything that other hotels in town don't
have. If you don't feel safe taking the walk into town at night, just cozy up the Pakay's
very own bar where there are always other travelers to meet.

Huasquila Amazon Lodge

Huasquila is probably one of the most accessible and affordable jungle lodges in the
world. But there are ups and downs to this. Unlike most other Amazonian lodges,
Huasquila can simply be reached by bus and taxi, but they also offer direct transfers from
Quito (4 hours). Since it isn't as deep in the jungle as other hotels, it isn't located in the
primary rainforest. However, the jungle it's situated in is quite wild allowing guests access
to rivers, waterfalls, cave excursions, visits to local native tribes, wildlife treks and more.
The lodge itself offers Kichwa-style bungalows and cabins (some even wheelchair access-
ible,) a restaurant and swimming pool with Jacuzzi. If private flights to remote resorts are
out of your budget, Huasquila is the next best thing.
