RSS Format
RSS follows a specific format. In the next two sections, this topic will cover the two most
common RSS formats:
• RSS 1.0
• RSS 2.0
A sample containing the same data will be shown for each format. In this way, you can
easily see the differences between the two formats.
Understanding RSS 1.0
RSS 1.0 allows a web site to publish a list of links to that site's newest content. An RSS 1.0
feed is always accessed directly from a URL. To see a sample RSS 1.0 feed from the HTTP
recipes site, access the following URL:
