Sleepy Kroměříž merits a detour if you happen to be in this part of the country. The
main draw is the sumptuous early-baroque Archbishop's Palace, with its commanding
tower, rococo interiors and even a certifiable masterpiece: Titian's The Flaying of
Marsyas . The palace is a Unesco World Heritage Site ‒ a great place to while away a
few hours. Outside the palace, there are some attractive Renaissance and baroque
buildings scattered about, and a lovely formal garden. While you only need a few
hours to take in the sights, there's at least one compelling reason to spend the night:
Kroměříž is home to an excellent microbrewery, an essential retreat once you've
taken in the sights. Conveniently, the microbrewery also houses and very nice small
hotel.

Top Tip
Addresses in Kroměříž are confusing. Each house bears two numbers: the street ad-
dress and the city registry building number. We've used street addresses in our list-
ings, but some places insist on using building numbers.
