but the boutique label wouldn't be out of place. Everything seems sculpted by an in-
dustrial designer, from the iron beds to the brushed-steel flooring and minimalist
square sinks. The Czech Inn offers a variety of accommodation, from standard hostel
dorm rooms to good-value private doubles (with or without attached bathroom) and
apartments.
A bank of internet terminals in the lobby and an excellent buffet breakfast in the
adjoining bar-cafe round out the charms. The nearest metro station is 10 minutes on
foot or a short tram ride away.

ment building in a leafy backstreet. The cheaper rooms are plain but functional, while
the larger rooms and 'suites' (two-room apartments) are more stylishly decorated and
furnished with antiques and stripped pine furniture. The suites also have minibars and
tables and chairs. Offers steep discounts on the website.

knowledgeable employees. The late-19th-century building retains many of its art-nou-
veau features, and the bedrooms are bright and cheerful with floral bedspreads and
arty black-and-white photos of Prague buildings on the walls. There are two small
suites on the top floor, one of which has a great view towards the castle.
