noon Sat & Sun; Muzeum) A French-accented after-party club, with DJs on two
floors, lots of bars, cosy armchairs and myriad rooms stuffed with people who want to
party until dawn. It's usually got a good, decadent vibe, and tends to get more (not
less) crowded as the night wears on.
CHECK OUT A SPARTA SLAVIA FOOTBALL MATCH
Prague's 'second' first-division football (soccer) club, SK Slavia Praha, plays its
home matches at Vršovice's Synot Tip Aréna (SK Slavia or Eden Stadium; 731 126
104; www.synottiparena.cz ; Vladivostocká, Vršovice; match tickets 150-400Kč; 6, 7,
22, 24) . While Slavia often plays second fiddle to Prague's other big team, Sparta
Praha, Slavia actually has the longer lineage of the two, dating back to 1892. It's
even an honorary member of England's Football Association.
Slavia has won the national championship on several occasions, mostly re-
cently in the 2009 season. Perhaps its most unusual record is the design of its
distinctive red-and-white striped uniforms, which have remained unchanged for
more than 100 years. The football season runs from August to May.
Synot Tip Aréna also plays host to some big-name rock acts during the sum-
mer open-air music season. Past shows have included REM, Depeche Mode
and Iron Maiden. The 2012 season was expected to bring Bruce Springsteen
and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Prague, among others. Purchase tickets for
games and concerts online through Ticketpro ( www.ticketpro.cz ) or at the
stadium ticket office.
