Wenceslas Square ( CLICK HERE )
8 Watched over by its iconic equestrian statue of St Wenceslas, Prague's biggest
square has been a gathering place during many of the great events of modern
Czech history, including the Warsaw Pact invasion of 1968 and the Velvet Revolution
of 1989. Today it is the throbbing commercial heart of the city, where McDonalds and
Marks & Spencer rub shoulders with art-nouveau architecture, and mirrored art-deco
arcades lead to stylish cafes and hidden gardens.
